The person responsible for the booking is the customer who makes and pays for the booking. This person accepts responsibility for all people participating in the booking. This includes the safety and wellbeing of all participants and respect and care of the facilities and equipment. It is this person’s responsibility to ensure all guests are aware of and adhere to these guidelines:
For private groups: You will receive an in person tutorial upon arrival of how to keep the sauna and hot tub burner lit and maintain an appropriate temperature. Please be mindful of open flame and take the appropriate precautions to avoid potential burns. You will go through a safety demonstration that you will be responsible to ensure the rest of your group is aware of.
Our sauna has a capacity of 6 people and our hot tub has a capacity of 8 people. If your group is above 6 people, we recommend a time slot of 3 hours – 4 hours of both the hot tub and sauna to rotate your group’s use of the facilities.
Please note that any use of a hot tub or sauna can lead to hyperthermia. This is a dangerous condition that can occur when the internal body temperature exceeds 37 degrees celsius. Symptoms of hyperthermia include heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, nausea, confusion, rapid pulse, flushed, hot and dry skin and unconsciousness which can lead to drowning. The use of alcohol, drugs and certain medication can increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia in hot tubs. Extended use of the hot tub facility can also result in hyperthermia.
You will receive an in person tutorial upon arrival of how to keep the sauna and hot tub burner lit and maintain a good temperature.
Disclaimer for river swimming:
River swimming is done entirely at your own risk and is separate from the facilities provided by Constable Park. Any advice or safety equipment provided by Constable Park are to maximise safety of customers and does not mean that Constable Park endorses the activity of river swimming. Please be aware that the River Stour is shallow and contains many weeds and water foliage that can wrap around legs and trap the swimmer. A buoyancy aid or flotation device and appropriate footwear is highly recommended. It is recommended to consult the environmental agency prior to swimming about any possible hazards that your actions may take on the water quality and protected wildlife.
On entering the river, especially after use of the hot tub or sauna, cold shock is likely. You may struggle to breathe for up to 10 seconds which may cause panic. Please note that entering cold water can lead to hypothermia. This is a dangerous condition that can occur when the internal body temperature drops below 35 degrees celsius. Symptoms of hypothermia include shivering, confusion, and slurred speech, which can progress to slow breathing, weak pulse, and loss of consciousness as body temperature falls further.
Failure to follow any of the above rules will result in an immediate cancellation of your booking slot without the possibility for a refund of your booking fee. We are not responsible for any action taken by yourself or your guests while using our hot tub facilities. We have set specific guidelines in the disclaimer to prevent any serious injury or fatality. By booking, you are confirming that you have thoroughly read through this disclaimer and understand that you take full responsibility for your safety and the safety of your guests. There will be no life guards during your stay.
